Classical Acting

PRE-REQUISITE: 2 years of Shakespeare Conquest
RECOMMENDED AGE: 14+
CONTENT: First semester we will explore the ability to communicate well with others, collaborate, and expand our comfort zone and emotional IQ through vocal and physical movement and expression. We will also read previously written and write our own contemporary dramatic literature. Youth will prepare pieces from this literature to share with the class and others in the commonwealth.
During 2nd semester the youth will take all of this that they have learned throughout 1st semester and lead the creation of a play or musical that will be performed sometime during the semester. Students will be directors, set builders, financial producers, music producers, film producers and editors, actors, stage managers, etc. for the production. Throughout this semester the class will visit professionals in the fields of music production, film, construction, finance and other professional fields that could pertain to the play in order to learn more about these professions.
