CONTENT: Georgics, Become A Homesteader
The word Georgics comes from the Latin GEO, meaning THE LAND, and ERGO, meaning TO WORK. In other words, Georgics means to “work the land”. Homesteaders work day by day to build and maintain self-reliance. Their ability to survive and thrive is dependent upon understanding the natural law of “we reap what we sow”.

In this class students will:
- Begin to recognize natural law and its associated outcomes as they are introduced to the idea of becoming a homesteader. They will learn principles homesteaders live by through reading and discussing classics that take place in an agrarian setting.
- Explore the skills homesteaders employ through in class activities, personal projects, and presentations.
- Practice applying these principles and skills to daily life as they learn to make connections through nature observation and journaling, simulation, and discussion.
