KEY OF LIBERTY
PREREQUISITES: 12 years and older
CONTENT: Colonial America and the Revolutionary War
As practice scholars begin their journey into the founding of America, the Revolutionary War, and the Constitution, they take a look at what freedom means and how our lives might be different without those freedoms. They will delve into the lives of some of the Founders, and try to determine what made them special. They'll study original documents like The Mayflower Compact, and The Declaration of Independence and learn how it all applies to them specifically. During this class, each scholar is challenged to earn awards by completing specific requirements.
EXPECTATIONS: It is estimated that the scholars will study 4-5 hours per week preparing for this class, and an additional 1-2 hours per week if completing the Above and Beyond requirements. Please also factor in additional time for slower readers and workers.
