Love of Learning

Love of Learning classes are designed to help students build confidence and develop a genuine love of learning through fun, hands-on exploration. Students engage in a wide range of subjects, including math, history, geography, science, art, writing, and literature. 

Areas of Study

• Literature: Exploring classic stories through discussion, creative activities, oral sharing, and basic writing skills

• Science: Hands-on exploration of the natural world, including topics such as anatomy, animals, plants, insects, and introductory physics

• History & Geography: Learning about cultures, places, ancient civilizations, U.S. states, and modern wonders of the world

• Math: Building arithmetic and basic geometry skills through games, manipulatives, and interactive activities

• Art: Weekly opportunities to create using a variety of artistic mediums

At Rise Up, mentors learn and grow alongside students, modeling curiosity and enthusiasm. This approach helps students discover interests, stay engaged, and develop a lifelong love of learning. 

This class runs from September through April.
